Savina Tarsitano (BF '05) - Curator of 4th Annual ENCATC Policy Debate

This event will be held under the patronage of the European Cultural Parliament and in partnership with The Centre - Edelman Brussels' platform for public engagement. In order to build on a series of thought–provoking debates on the topic of crisis started by ENCATC in 2011, the 4th Annual ENCATC Policy Debate (Financing the Arts in Challenging Times: Policies, Business Models and Good Practice from Europe and the USA) will gather renowned experts to provide insight on the opportunities, threats and difficulties the arts-cultural sector has experienced in relation to the ongoing crisis. Elisabetta Lazzaro, Chair and Professor of Cultural Management at Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) will deliver the keynote speech on "Financing the arts in challenging times in Europe and the USA" to be followed by a panel debate with the following experts: Mattia Agnetti, Executive Secretary of the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia; Luc Colebunders, CEO of Crofun (Crowdfunding platform); Ignasi Guardans, CUMEDIAE ; Catherine Magnant, Deputy Head of Unit Cultural Policy and Intercultural Dialogue, European Commission; Annick Schramme, ENCATC President, Professor at the University of Antwerp; and Johanna Suo, TAG Gallery. This lively discussion will be moderated by Jill Craig, Deputy General Manager, Edelman Brussels. Following the debate, artist entrepreneur and member of the European Cultural Parliament, Savina Tarsitano, will open the exhibition that highlights the talent of European and American artists: Emmanuel Beyens, a French/Belgian painter; Morris Rosenzweig, an American composer; Savina Tarsitano, an Italian artist; and Mia Pearlman, an American artist. Policy debate participants can also take advantage of this time to network and enjoy a degustation of the Italian/Calabrian products offered by Gal Kroton.
