Foundation Event

On the occasion of the 2014 Festival of Science in Genoa, the Bogliasco Foundation operned the Study Center to the public for a weekend of garden exploration. "The Course of Time in a Garden: Days, Seasons, Decades in the Gardens of Villa dei Pini" walked visitors through the extremely diverse plant life at the Study Center. On their tour, visitors learn not only how to identify a variety of fauna, but come to understand the lifecycle of each plant, including the strategies they adapt to protect themselves throughout time and the benefits they provide to the ecosystem in the garden after they die. 

 

Mario Mariotti, Professor of Botany at the University of Genoa, was present at the garden on Sunday, November 2, to share his knowledge with visitors as they discovered the gardens. That afternoon, there was also a performance by choreographer-in-residence Merian Soto.
