Philosophers and social theorists have questioned the objectivity of science. How can we trust the sciences to provide reliable knowledge if objectivity is a myth? If objectivity is a myth, how can we trust the sciences to provide knowledge that will enhance general human wellbeing? Can we rethink knowledge and objectivity to address this challenge? Helen Longino will present her work on the question of objectivity in science and social interactions within scientific communities, identifying the conditions for the advent of a new form of social objectivity.
