Adagio, a play by Emanuelle Delle Piane (BF '07, '11)
Adagio is an unpublished text about death, containing nine mini dramas ("drametti") inspired by several musical adagios and directed by three emerging directors: Elisa D'Andrea, Yuri D'Agostino and Elisabette Granara. This collaboration between Emanuelle Delle Piane and Teatro della Tosse was born during the Italian-French playwright’s residency at the Bogliasco Foundation. Marco Cappelletti, another Bogliasco Fellow, together with the author, translated the play “Adagio” from French.
The Aracne Editrice of Rome published the Italian version of four works by Emanuelle, translated into Italian by Gianni Poli, whom the author also met during her residency at the Study Center: the first book, containing Adagio and Il cassetto seguito dall’armadio, was presented in Genoa on March 21st at the library Falso Demetrio. The second publication includes Le sorelle Caramelle - a comedy drama for children written during Emanuelle's residence in Bogliasco - and Vaticano, addio!
